Special Educational Needs

At Whitchurch Primary School, we are committed to providing an inclusive, ambitious education for every pupil. We recognise that some children may need additional or different support at different points in their school journey, and we work closely with children, families and professionals to identify needs early and remove barriers to learning. Our teachers remain responsible for the progress of every child in their class, with support and guidance from our SENDCo, Miss Aimee Knight. Where additional support is needed, we use a graduated approach of assess, plan, do and review, working in partnership with families to ensure provision is appropriate, purposeful and regularly evaluated. Our aim is for every child, including those with SEND, to feel safe, valued and included, while being appropriately challenged and supported to achieve their best.
