Year 2, Puffins: Miss Fudge

Welcome to Puffin Class!

A very warm welcome to the Year 2 page of our website. Here we will share with you the exciting learning opportunities that our KS1 curriculum provides. We will also detail key information and clear guidance about our routines and expectations to help you to support your child in getting the most from their time in Year 2.

Meet the Team

Miss Fudge is the teacher in Puffin Class. Miss Ponting and Miss Rosling work as the classroom LSAs.

As a team, we are very much looking forward to working with your children and are keen to share their journey with you. You will find regular updates on our Class Dojo Page and social media pages.

Wider Curriculum:

At Whitchurch Primary School, we are very fortunate to provide children with a wide range of learning experiences to ensure children develop a love of learning. The children have forest school sessions, attend a local gymnastics centre, have P.E sports coaching sessions and have cooking lessons throughout the school year.

PE:

Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please send your children in PE kit on these days.

Forest School:

Puffins will be having Forest School sessions, provided by Mrs Fox, every Monday from Monday 22nd November until Monday 3rd January. Please send your child in with Wellington boots for these sessions.

Gymnastics Centre:

Puffins will be attending the gymnastics centre each Wednesday from Wednesday 21st February until Wednesday 27th March. Please send your child in their PE kit to school for these sessions.

How can you help at home?

Ensure your child has had a recent eye test and hearing test.

Read at home 5 times a week as a minimum. This will greatly support their reading development.

Practice your child's spellings each week. Our spelling test is on Thursday each week.

Check our website class page and Class Dojo to keep updated with our curriculum.

Whitchurch Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
