Whitchurch Primary School promotes healthy eating. Key Stage 1 pupils are provided with a mid-morning snack of fruit, free of charge, and fresh water is available. Children up to the age of five are also offered milk. Key Stage 2 pupils are allowed to bring a fruit snack for their mid morning break. Fresh water is available, but all children are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to school to use throughout the day. Parents can select to order a school dinner. The menus are on a two week rota and are based on nutritionally balanced home cooked meals. They contain lots of fruit, vegetables and salads to help boost children's intake of essential vitamins and minerals. The levels of fat, salt and sugar are also reduced. Alternatively, you can provide your own nutritional cold packed lunch. The latest dinner menu and cost can be obtained from the school office. Dinner money can be paid termly or weekly. Cheques should be made payable to Whitchurch Primary School. Please put dinner money in a sealed envelope with child’s name, class and amount enclosed on the front. Dinner money is handed into the class teacher.
As of September 2012, the cost of a school
dinner is £2.00 per day. |
