Kitchen Opening 2008

On 12th December 2008 there was the grand opening of the new kitchen extension at Whitchurch Primary School. Masterchef finalist Dean Edwards opened our £50,000 children's kitchen. The facility at the school means that all pupils aged 4 to 11 will be able to have cookery lessons as part of the curriculum and learn about healthy eating. The school will also use the kitchen for community activities such as a cookery club. Pupils, parents and staff worked hard to raise money for the extension, which also received funding from Bath & North East Somerset Council. Dean Edwards, who lives in Whitchurch, was a finalist in Masterchef 2006 and narrowly missed out on the title.
